Ameristar Casinos is a Las Vegas based gaming and entertainment company known for providing world class gaming actions and superb dining, accommodation and entertainment. Ameristar Casinos is a large corporation that owns and manages a network of casinos operating in the United States.

Ameristar was founded in 1954, Nevada when Piersanti opened the Cactus Petes Lodge which is also known as Jackpot. Since then it had grown through leaps and bounds, until in November 1993 it was listed as a public company.

Although Ameristar Casino is based in Las Vegas, it does not have a single casino in Las Vegas under its portfolio. Its last Las Vegas area casino, The Reserve Hotel Casino was sold to Station Casinos in 2001.

Under its portfolio, there are eight casinos operating in different markets. They are mainly Ameristar Casino Resort Spa, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City, Ameristar Casino Hotel Council Bluffs, Ameristar Casino Hotel Vicksburg, Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago Ameristar Casino Black Hawk and Cactus Petes.
