Igraj Igro Poker

I know somebody, he is a language expert, and he had this term, it's "igraj igro", and according to him, it means "realistic but very weird". (He is fluent in half a dozen languages, and teaches pure Latin in a university outside the US).
For whatever reason, he refused to say what language it was, and I even asked people about it, nobody could say. I tried to research on it via the Net, to no avail.
Anyway, over dinner with friends, he once told this story that he entitled "Igraj Igro Poker", and you know what it means. Let me share it with you: a Hungarian man literally became bankrupt in a highrolling game, and guess what he put up as the stakes? His dog, which happened to be one of the most expensive kind in the world. Well, this Hungarian loser kind of just "pawned" it, and the other player said that when the former is able to come up with the cash, he would return his dog. (Yes, the Hungarian lost the game, lost the dog, and lost the respect of many peers, I mean, it was real weird).
When the winner went to the loser's house to get the dog, the dog raised hell, but of course, the winner got him anyway. (Plus the dog was not the biting type).
Here's the thing about this Igraj Igro Poker story: just a couple of weeks later, the Hungarian managed to get the cash, and went to the winner to reclaim his pet. Lo and behold, the winner was no longer there, and the house was occupied by a stranger, an old lady.
When he narrated what it was all about, the old lady then showed him a lethal-looking snake (allegedly non-poisonous) and told the man that she would just sell the snake to him for a song and a prayer.
The man probably thought that the snake would be a fittng replacement, and bought it. Later on, he started bringing the snake to the same casino where everything started. LO AND BEHOLD, the casino management even allowed it. WOW, a true Igraj Igro Poker tale, par excellence.Social Bookmarking
