Blind Rules for Texas Hold’em
Posted under Articles, Poker Stuff on October 18th, 2008
In Texas Holdem style of poker, players must bet first or place the blinds. Texas Holdem Blind Rules compel the first two players to the left of the dealer to place bets on the table. These bets serve as the start ups for the pot to be played for in the whole game.
The bet placed by the first player to the left of the dealer is the minimum or half of the amount of the agreed pot for the round. This is called the Small Blind. The Big Blind is the bet placed by the second player to the left of the dealer, which is the maximum amount or twice the minimum bet. The players who come after the person who put in the big blind have the option to call, raise, or fold their bets.
The Texas Holdem Blind Rules ensures that there will be a minimum amount of bet to be played for in a round, even if most of the players have folded or opted not to play.Social Bookmarking
